Strange MusicThis is a category for composers and performers and improvisers who do not fit in (or even go near) categories. That is what we love most about new music. |

The Kraken, Sea Horse, Martichore, and other strange beasts enliven this
tongue-in-cheek techno disc. This is a brilliant album, with complex contrapuntal
layers that separate it from mere junk techno. Slow moving harmonics,
with a fast beat and catchy refrains. An excerpt from the notes sums it
up perfectly:
"Below the thunders of the upper deep,
far, far beneath the abysmal sea,
His ancient dreamless uninvaded sleep
The kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights
fleeteth about his shadowy sides; above him swell
huge sponges of millemial growth and height...."
